Farahana Namaskar instructs the following:
  • "Doing and Being:" Mindfulness Workshop for Kids 6-10 yrs
  • Author of Doing and Being, will guide a 5-day mindfulness camp for children (ages of 6-10). Children will enjoy 90 minutes of fun exciting activities focusing on various mindfulness techniques that can be incorporated in their daily activities to help face challenging situations, work through effective techniques to manage emotions, and incorporate and practice heartfulness in our everyday lives.
     
    Day 1: What is mindfulness - we focus on the breath and five senses to anchor in the present moment.
     
    Day 2: Feelings and Emotions - recognizing the flow of various emotions
     
    Day 3: Autopilot vs Intentional Living - incorporating mindfulness in our everyday (eating, brush teeth, walking etc)
     
    Day 4: Bringing heartfullness into our everyday - we focus on forgiveness, kindness,and compassion.
     
    Day 5: Practicing gratitude in our everyday. Parents are invited during the last 30 minutes for a short presentation and question/answer session to summarize what the children learned.
     
    The children will go home with a signed copy of the book Doing and Being and there will be an opportunity to take photos with the author if families so wish.
