Gina Dunn

Her classes are a dynamic, energizing blend of focused breath and movements designed to strengthen and rejuvenate the body and calm the mind. When off the yoga mat Gina is an Artist, and she brings her creative side to her teaching, fusing a dynamic flow and intelligent sequencing with energetic and inspiring music.
A competitive long distance runner for several years with many age-bracket and overall victories under her belt, Gina came to yoga when pregnant with her first of three children in 2005. She found yoga brought her an inner peace she had only known before when holding a paintbrush in her hand and simultaneously cultivated an understanding of how athletes can utilize their yoga practice to balance strength, increase range of motion, and train the body and mind.
Gina completed her 200-hour teacher training under the Ashtanga-based Vinyasa teaching of the renowned Julie Boyd and Sanskrit scholar Cheryl Oliver, of Scottsdale, AZ., and continually studies both the physical and philosophical teachings of yoga under master teachers all over the country. Gina is a Brand Ambassador for Lululemon Athletica.
The regular practice of yoga opened Gina’s heart as she realized the benefits of yoga extended far beyond the physical, and she is privileged to share this gift with her students. Gina is a caring, patient teacher and wants to be a positive influence to her students to maintain their health and well being, reach their full potential, and increase their personal satisfaction.

Gina Dunn instructs the following:
  • Rockin Yogis 2/3
  • Faster-paced vinyasa flow yoga with optional inversions to upbeat, hip music. This rockin’ class torches calories through an energetic vinyasa practice where you will develop strength, flexibility, and endurance. You will be challenged by traditional and creative sequences of postures rooted to an enlivening breath. Be ready to sweat! Variations and options will be given to modify or intensify your practice. Previous yoga experience recommended. (Room is heated to 86-88 degrees; 65 min; Intensity Level 2/3.)

  • 108 Sun Salutations
  • The Sun Salutation is a simple expression of gratitude for each day the sun rises. Sun salutations are moving meditations, a symbolic journey from our outer physical body to the deeper spirit within. The number 108 is an auspicious number in yogic tradition and philosophy. There is an artistry in designing movements that create the "state of flow" that allows practitioners to not just receive a great physical work-out, but a also release of tension that affects mind, body and channels positive energy...a benefit of intelligent sequencing Gina and Kim have studied in detail are passionate about sharing. Prepare to be thoughtfully guided through a combination of Sun Salutations, traditional and variations, including options to modify, intensify and multiple pauses to practice inversions or take rest. The experience will finish with floor stretching, a short meditation and savasana. Some yoga experience is recommended but not required due to the emphasis on the tempo (breath based timing) of the experience. Luxe organic wellness gifts will be provided to each person who signs up from Align Apothecary (@alignstudios).
