I began the yoga journey out of curiosity and quickly embraced being on the yoga mat in a warm room with the encouragement of several excellent instructors at WeYogis.

I went on to study yoga under renowned teachers Cheryl Oliver and Julie Boyd to receive my RYT200 teacher certification in June of 2014 from Yoga Alliance.

Currently I enjoy teaching restorative yoga and occasional vinyasa flow classes, especially outdoors.

I love to find an inspiring aspect to every class and every teacher, enjoying the diversity of benefits yoga can offer everyone, such as physical fitness, a sense of rest and calm, physical healing, emotional strength, and deeper flexibility to prevent injuries in other sports.

My hope is that every yoga student discovers the unexpected benefits that will flow from yoga by trying a variety of classes, practicing regularly, and breathing deeply through each posture. Join me at We Yogis!!

 

Whitney Wilbur

I began my yoga journey in 2000, shortly after our first son (Pax) was born. After several years in California training in Reformer-based Pilates, my husband Eric and I moved back to Dallas, where I began a regular practice at Bikram Yoga on Mockingbird and with an incredible Baron Baptiste trained yogini, Glenda Wolchuk-Twining with whom I was practicing when our youngest son (Miles) was born. When Exhale Spa opened in 2006, I began Core Fusion classes and also became a yoga student of Sabra Hanson, Susie Caicedo Elizabeth Welp and Julie Boyd, with whom I completed my Yoga Teacher Training Certification in Spring of 2012, along with Cheryl Hall-Oliver. At 40 years of age, I recently added running to the mix and have found that yoga remains the key to my peak mind-body performance, not only providing strength, balance, and flexibility, but also introspection, focus and peace of mind on and off the Mat! Namaste!

Relax and renew. This class emphasizes the calming of the nervous system and teaches the art of relaxation. Your body will learn to surrender allowing soft tissue injuries to heal, muscles to release, minds to quiet and deepen physical openings. Melts away tension and restores vitality. An opportunity to be still, relax and let go! All levels welcome. (1 hour; Intensity Level 1)
